Not a feed, and not a summary of headlines someone else wrote. When you ask for a brief, Kin Wire runs live web searches across real news sources for your home city, the cities you track, and the country — then writes the result in plain language, with a link on every item back to where it came from.
Every brief covers your home city, up to two cities you follow for someone you care about, and a national section. You choose the topics. You can also write a plain-English note — "more municipal politics, less sports" — and it steers around that.
There are no ads, no sponsored items, and nothing is ranked to keep you scrolling. The brief ends. That is the entire product.
Each brief costs real money to produce — live web searches plus the AI work to read and write it. That cost is per brief, not per user, so an "unlimited" plan would only mean the lightest readers subsidising the heaviest. We'd rather price it honestly and tell you exactly what you get.
Pay as you go suits people who want a brief now and then — before a visit home, or when something is happening somewhere they care about. You add $5 or $10 to a balance and each brief draws $0.50 from it. Nothing expires, and there's no recurring charge.
A subscription suits people who want it as a habit. Each plan includes a set number of fresh briefs a month — stated up front, not hidden in a fair-use clause. Re-opening a brief you already have is always free and never counts. Go past the allowance and extra briefs are $0.40 each, which is less than the walk-up price, so subscribing is always the better deal. Unused briefs don't roll over; that's what keeps the monthly price where it is.
What happens when I use up my monthly briefs?
Nothing breaks. You can still re-open any brief you already have, free, as often as you like. A genuinely new one costs $0.40 from your wallet balance, and your allowance resets on the 1st of the month on your local clock — not a server's.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from Billing in your account. It runs to the end of the period you've paid for, then stops. Any wallet balance you still have stays yours.
Do I need a card to try it?
No. 3 briefs, no card, no trial countdown.
Does tracking someone's city tell them?
No. We collect the place name and nothing else — no names, no contact details. Nobody is notified, ever. See our Privacy Policy.
Is it written by AI?
Yes — Claude searches the web and writes each brief. It can make mistakes, which is exactly why every item links to its source. The source is always the authoritative version.
Do you sell my data?
No. No ads, no data sales, no marketing email unless you ask for it.
